Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated developmental projects worth over Rs. 11 crore in Rampur Vidhan Sabha area of Shimla district through video conferencing from Shimla today.Jai Ram Thakur dedicated Commerce Block of Degree College, Rampur constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.44 crore to facilitate the students of Rampur of Shimla district.  Nirmand and Aani area of Kullu district and Lahaul-Spiti district, Rs. 90.79 lakh building of Primary Health Centre Phancha of remote area of Pandrah Beesh and Rs. 85.08 lakh Gravity Water Supply scheme of gram panchayat Kungal Balti for Kungal area which would benefit about 870 people of four habitations. He also inaugurated Rs. 1.55 crore Khakrola Flow Irrigation Scheme of GP Shingala to irrigate about 60.15 hectares and Rs. 5.30 crore multi-storeyed car parking at Indira Market Phase-I in ward No. 3 in Nagar Parishad, Rampur  which would provide parking facility of 80 vehicles.While addressing the people through video conferencing Chief Minister said that all these projects would usher a new era of progress and prosperity in Rampur area. He said that better health care facilities would be provided to the people of 15-20 area of the State. He said that the water supply schemes of the area would facilitate the people of the area. He said that he would have personally visited the area and dedicated all these schemes to the people of the area but corona pandemic has forced us to go for virtual rally.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government was ensuring that the pace of development does not suffer due to this virus. He said that thus the Government has decided to use modern technology to dedicate various developmental projects to the people of the State. He said that it was way back in 2014 that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned Digital India and today this modern technology has proved a boon for the people of the country. Chief Minister said that although the cases of virus has increased in the country, but still situation was under control in the country. He said that most of the developed countries of the world with total population of 142 crore has witnessed 6.11 lakh deaths as compared to 28000 deaths reported in India with a population of about 135 crore. He said that the crisis was not yet over and we all should adopt complete safety to protect ourselves from this virus. Jai Ram Thakur said that none of the Chief Minister has faced  such a crisis, but still a few Congress leaders were posing as if they and their family have a vast experience of fighting the Corona pandemic. He said that the State of Himachal Pradesh has performed exceptionally well to fight this virus. He said that the situation of the State was far better than most of the States of the country and steps taken by Himachal Pradesh Government has been appreciated at the national level. 

Chief Minister said that the two and a half year tenure of the State Government has witnessed unparallel development in all spheres. He said that several schemes have been launched in the State for the benefit of every sections of the society with special focus on upliftment of common man. He said that about 2.76 lakh free gas connections have been provided to eligible women in the State under Grihini Suvidha Yojna. He said that under the HimCare Yojna over 86000 patients have been treated by spending about Rs. 77 crore.Member of Parliament Mandi Ram Swaroop Sharma, while welcoming the Chief Minister, said that the people of the State were fortunate to have a simple, hardworking and honest Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur for heading the State. He said that the Chief Minister was ensuring balanced and alround development of the State. He said that even in the Corona pandamic, Chief Minister has effectively guided the State due to this, the death rate of the State was minimum in the country.BJP Mandal President Bheem Sain Thakur thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating several developmental projects in the area. He said that Chief Minister has always been considerate towards the developmental demands of the people of the area.Urban development Minister Sarveen Chaudhary also joined the event through video conferencing. Former Minister Singhi Ram, BJP Executive Member and Director HIMFED Naresh Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Amit Kashyap and local leaders were also present on the occasion among others.
