Punjab Cabinet Minister  Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that Punjab government would perpetuate the memory of Martyred Army Naik Rajwinder Singh.  He was here to pay last respects to the braveheart young soldier of the Indian Army who was martyred in Pulwama area of Jammu and Kashmir during a terror attack.Paying homage to the martyr, the Cabinet Minister  Dharamsot said that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh himself understood the plight of the soldiers due to his military background, therefore he had increased the assistance to the family members of the martyrs from Rs.12 lakh to Rs.50 lakh.Mr. Dharamsot said that no price could be paid for the martyrdom of the martyrs but still the Punjab government would provide a job and a grant of Rs. 50 lakh to the family of martyred Naik Rajwinder Singh.  He said that the Punjab government had done its duty but now the allies in the Union government and the party running the government in Delhi, should also put pressure on the Union government to do something more practical for the martyrs.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Mr. Dharamsot said that Punjab Government would soon fulfill its commitment for the overall development of the village Dodra and construction of roads including the memorial of the martyr and naming of the village after the martyr.Bowing his head before martyr's parents Avtar Singh and mother Mohinder Kaur, he said that this family had given a valiant warrior who had attained martyrdom for the unity and integrity of the country.  He assured that the Punjab government stood by the family of the martyr.Meanwhile, a condolence message on behalf of Lok Sabha Member Preneet Kaur was handed over to the parents of the martyr Naik Rajwinder Singh by Raj Kumar OSD/OSD Punjab CM.  Others who attended the Antim Ardas included Satnam Singh Vice Chairman Zila Parishad, SDM  Samana Naman Markan, DSP  Samana Jaswant Singh Mangat, Tehsildar Sandeep Singh and local dignitaries.Interacting with media persons, Forest Minister Dharamsot disclosed that department has planned to plant 10 million trees in this monsoon with tree guards. Earlier Forest Department had planted 64 lakh saplings during year long celebrations dedicated to 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, he added.
