On World Population Day, CMO Bandipora Bashir Ahmad called for close coordination between the health department and field functionaries to extend medicare facilities to the people especially those living in the rural and far-flung areas.He said this during a function organized to celebrate World Population at Mini Secretariat in Bandipora.Addressing a gathering, He said that ASHAs and other field functionaries can share the common platforms by holding seminars, workshops and awareness camps to educate masses at grass roots level.The CMO lauded the endeavor of health authority for doing excellent work in the field of health and other social sectors under the NRHM especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.He appealed to all the sections of the society to help in curbing the menace of female feticide and asked the people particularly ASHA’s to create awareness among the masses against the female feticide and gender inequality.CMO Bandipora stressed the Health Department to take all possible measures under Small Family Welfare norms to stabilize the population in the district and to launch a massive awareness campaign through banners, posters, sign boards, seminars, debates etc regarding problems of early marriages and population explosion.Among others Deputy Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Nodal Officer ISS, BMO Bandipora and other senior officers of the Health Department attended the event.
