The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, K K Sidha today chaired a meeting of officers of agriculture and allied sectors including Lead District Manager to review celebrations of Kissan Pakhwada in Anantnag commencing from July 7th to 21st.On the occasion, The DDC stressed for organising Kissan Melas during which departments can display machinery, seed, raise awareness among general public through pamphlets and other printed material regarding various centrally sponsored schemes under implementation in the district.The DDC directed the officers of animal husbandry, sheep, fisheries, floriculture, horticulture and agriculture to submit the proposal of targets under various schemes including establishment of fisheries units, construction of race ways, establishment of dairy units of 50, 30, 20, 15 and 5 cows, construction of cowsheds under MGNERAGA convergence.Besides he also directed them for identifying beneficiaries under poultry venture, target distribution of two thousand birds in each blocks, establishment of 12 mini sheep farms in each of the district and identifying of beneficiaries under PM-Kisan, PM-Mandhan and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna.The DDC directed the agriculture and allied sectoral officers to ensure the display of banners and hoarding during Kisan Melas to be held at Mattan and Dooru on 11th and 12th July regarding the activities of the departments.The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, ACD, DPO Chief Agriculture Officer, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry Officers and other concerned officers.
