District Development Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan, today chaired a meeting of the district heads of concerned departments and other stakeholders to review the arrangements being put in place to ensure smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, 2020.The meeting was attended by SSP, Haseeb-Ur –Rahman, SSP Traffic, J.S Johar, ADC, Ashok Sharma, ACR, Dherinder Sharma, SDMs, ACD, Zamir Ahmed Rishu,   CMO, Dr. Mohammad Farid Bhat, Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE and PDD, district officers,  representatives of National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI), religious leaders and other concerned.On the occasion, DDC constituted various committees including Langer Sites Inspection Committee headed by ADC and Tehsil Level Committee headed by concerned Tehsildar to monitor arrangement besides ensuring implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to prevent spread of COVID-19.A threadbare discussion was held regarding various arrangements for making the yatra successful.The DDC emphasized the need for putting in place special arrangements this year in view of Covid-19 Pandemic.Keeping in view COVID-19 pandemic challenges, DDC directed the langer organizations to follow the SOPs to ensure smooth service in langer areas alongwith installation of CCTV cameras at the langer sites.DDC directed the langer organizers and officers   to allow only those Sewadars (workers) in their Langers who have latest Covid-19 negative reports besides ensuring prohibition on use of polythene bags and other such materials.  He asked them to ensure hygienic quality of eatables, adequate sanitation and other safety arrangements at the sites besides making arrangements of packed food for pilgrims during Yatra.DDC directed the representatives of NHAI and construction companies to maintain NH-44 and station adequate machinery at all vulnerable places to clear roads without any delay.The DDC asked the officers to put in place all necessary arrangements for a successful yatra including accommodations, langers and other facilities for pilgrims.The DDC asked concerned officers to ensure proper sanitization of langer sites, uninterrupted water power supply besides provisions of portable water, security arrangements, installation of temporary, mobile and Bio toilets at langer sites as well as halting points in the districts.
