Two unidentified militants were killed while three Army soldiers including an officers were injured during an encounter between the militants and government forces in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.Police said government forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Arrah area of Kulgam district based on specific information about the presence of militants there. He said as the forces were conducting searches in the area, militants fired upon them.The forces retaliated, ensuing a gunfight in which two militants were killed, the official said.Reports said that during the operation, three soldiers including a JCO were injured and he had been rushed to a hospital.Reports added that youth clashed with government forces near the encounter site.The operation was going on till last reports came in and further details were awaited.
