District Development Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode conducted an extensive tour of Bal Padhri area of Bhaderwah and held interaction with migrants living in the high altitude meadows of the area besides listening to their grievances.During the visit DDC interacted with the migrant population living in these high altitude meadows during the ongoing summer season and listened to their grievances patiently.The issues highlighted by the migrant population included construction of the bridle paths in the identified areas of forests, lacking of which has caused serious damages to their livestock in recent times, opening of tribal School as mobile schools ceased to operate from the last few years in the respective area, providing of solar lights, construction of forest huts at Bal Padhri to facilitate tourists, to provide the pending tribal ration besides to provide the same on regular basis, the DDC on the spot directed the concerned officers to ensure necessary action immediately.The DDC listened to all their issues patiently highlighted during the interaction and assured them that their grievances would be forwarded to the concerned authorities for redressal on priority.The DDC also informed them that the district administration is also dedicated to improve the tourism sector across the district which will in-turn address the issues of the earnings and livelihood to the people living in these areas.The migrants expressed their gratitude to the DDC for listening to their basic and genuine issues and also appreciated the persistence efforts of the district administration for being committed to ensure the general welfare of the people living in the far flung areas particularly of the vulnerable sections of the society.Others who accompanied the DDC during the tour were Tehsildar Bhaderwah, BDO Bhaderwah, Changa, Officials of RDD besides other officials of the administration.
