Deputy Commissioner Varinder Sharma today said that to ensure that we all fight Covid 19 collectively, joint effort by all stakeholders is required. He said that all of us can collectively fight Covid 19 very easily. He said this while chairing a meeting of all department heads, here today.Mr Sharma said that the only way to save ourselves from Covid 19 is that if we follow all directions of Punjab government as well as the Health Department. He appealed to all department heads to become role models of their respective departments. He urged them to get COVA mobile app downloaded on the mobile phones of all their employees, besides, they should also urge others to download this mobile app in large numbers and become Mission Fateh Warriors. He asked every official to produce 50 warriors each.He directed every office to display awareness material in their respective offices, should provide facility of hand washing, sanitiser and each department should appoint one nodal officer regarding Mission Fateh.During the meeting, it was decided that people who do not follow the directions of COVID 19, they should be challaned. He said that maximum publicity through places of worship and others should be done in every village and town of Ludhiana. 

He said that brick kiln workers should also be educated in large numbers, besides before the start of online classes of students, first two minutes should be dedicated towards COVID 19.He said that under the aegis of Information and Public Relations Department Punjab, an awareness drive was held from June 15-21, 2020. Similarly, another such drive would be held from June 27-July 5, 2020, and departments namely Local Government, Rural Development & Panchayats, Technical education, higher education, school education, social security, women and child development, health & family welfare, sports and youth welfare and cooperation would organise different activities.He said that under this campaign, people in both rural and urban areas of district would be educated about ways to save themselves from COVID 19.Prior to this meeting, the Deputy Commissioner held a meeting with representatives of private hospitals and Indian Medical Association at his office. He urged the IMA representatives to do sampling of suspected patients on their own and assured that their staff would be duly trained by the health department. He also urged the doctors to not force patients to go for Covid 19 test before any emergency situation.The meeting was also attended by Dr Bishav Mohan from DMCH, beside several others.
