District Legal Services Authority, Anantnag today observed International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking by organizimg a Legal Awareness Programme at ADR Centre, District Court Complex Anantnag.The programme was organised under the guidance of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Anantnag Mr. Parvaiz Hussain Kachro.The programme was attended by Retainer Lawyers and PLV’s attached with front office DLSA Anantnag.On this occasion Secretary DLSA Anantnag spoke about Cause & Consequences of Drug Abuse, De-addiction & Drug Trafficking. She also discussed some provisions of NDPS Act and NALSA (Legal Services to Victims of Drug Abuse & Eradication of Menace of Drug Abuse) Scheme of 2015.At the end of programme a discussion was held on, “Role of Legal Services Authorities vis-a-vis the Eradication of Drug Menace” during COVID-19 crises.During the threadbare discussion, number of suggestions were put forward by the Retainer Lawyers and PLV’s which were taken note of by Secretary DLSA Anantnag.Meanwhile, It was decided that pamphlets would be prepared which would be affixed at the prominent places for creating awareness about the menace.Also, communication would be made to CEO Anantnag to direct each School of the District to create awareness about the issue through online mode amongst the students of their school.
