Punjab Sports and Youth Services and NRIs Affairs Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi today handed over appointment letters to 6 newly recruited District Sports Officers.During a brief program held at his residence here, Rana Sodhi asked the newly-appointed candidates, who were selected through Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) to discharge their responsibilities diligently and honestly. He said that in the arena of sports, whereas you can reach the heights of progress, simultaneously you can facilitate to the state to restore the old glory in sports by giving proper guidance to the youth.Rana Sodhi said that through sports they could protect the youth of Punjab from drugs and fulfill their responsibility towards the society. He said that taking advantage of the expertise of these sports officers would help in further promoting the sports culture of the state. He congratulated newly appointed Sports Officers on joining the department and wished them all the best for the future endeavours.The recipients of appointment letters included; Rupesh Kumar, Parvinder Singh, Ranbir Singh Bhangu, Sukhchain Singh, Shaswat Rajdan and Gurdeep Kaur. On this occasion, Secretary Sports and Youth Services Mr. Hussan Lal, Director Mr. DPS Kharbanda and Deputy Director Mr. Kartar Singh were present.
