Gearing up for tackling any unforeseen urgency amidst the Covid 19 pandemic, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Ghanshyam Thori today ordered the upgradation of existing Covid Care Centre from 500 beds to 1000 beds under ‘Mission Fateh’.The Deputy Commissioner, who inspected the facilities at the Covid Care Centre at Meritorious School for Children on Kapurthala road, said that within the coming week the requisite infrastructural upgradation must be ensured in the school to cater 1000 patients adding that it was part of the ‘Mission Fateh’ launched by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to ensure resurgence of the state from Corona Virus.He said that all the mildly asymptomatic patients would be admitted in this Covid Care Centre to ensure quality treatment to them. Mr Thori said that this Centre would be further equipped with state of the art treatment and diagnostic facilities to ensure that patients get best medical facilities.The Deputy Commissioner further said that apart from boarding and lodging adequate arrangements must be made for food of the patients. He said that the patients must also be provided fruits to boost their immunity.Mr Thori said that the physical infrastructure in the Covid Care Centre would be upgraded on the modern to ensure that patients do not get any problems during their stay in the centre.He said that there was no dearth of funds for tackling this pandemic. He said that the major focus was only on saving the precious lives of people from the pandemic. He said that it was the moral duty of all of us to fight this war against Covid 19 effectively with better coordination with all key departments in this war.On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Mr Jasbir Singh, Assistant Commissioner Mr Hardeep Singh, DEO Secondary Mr Harinder Pal Singh and others were present.
