In connection with the road widening of Narbal-Uri stretch of National Highway, District Development Commissioner (DDC), Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today inspected several locations at Pattan, Sangrama, Uri and at other vital spots to take review of the pace and progress of widening work.The road widening plan of National Highway comprises of 4 lanning from Narbal-Baramulla stretch and 2 lanning from Baramulla-Uri stretch besides the proposal also contains two bypasses at Pattan up to Palhallan and at Kanispora from Kanispora to Khanpora.On the occasion, DDC took a detailed appraisal of various aspects and was informed that Joint Survey has already been completed by BRO and Revenue authorities.It was further informed that preliminary revenue papers as per the requisite alignment and other necessities have also been completed by the concerned authorities.
The DC exhorted upon the concerned agencies to speed up the pace of work and sort out bottlenecks, if any so that work is completed within the specific time period.He directed to complete the pegging work up to 20 June by mobilising additional men and machinery for achieving desired results, and moreover emphasized upon working in coordination and cooperation for removing impediments within the fixed timeframe.On the occasion the DDC was accompanied by Officiating Commandant Border Roads Organization (BRO) Aakash Agarwal and other concerned functionaries.
