In continuation of his review meetings with the Vice Chancellors of the Universities of Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu today held a video conference with the Vice-Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University to get a first hand appraisal of the preparedness being put in place by the University for resumption of academic activities.Sh. Bipul Pathak, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor (in person) and Prof. Javed Musarrat, Vice-Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) along with the Registrar of BGSBU attended the meeting through video conferencing.The Lt Governor sought a detailed report on the precautionary measures taken by the University and its post-lockdown preparations. He asked the VC to plan comprehensively for ensuring smooth conduct of Academic session and examinations post-lockdown, besides complete sanitization of campus and hostels. He further asked him to update the infrastructure to facilitate the students with an enhanced e-learning mode.The Lt Governor also stressed on strict adherence of social distancing norms and other administrative guidelines after the resumption of the academic activities in the University. He advised the VC for proper testing and scanning of the students coming from the Red Zones.On being apprised by the Vice Chancellor about filling up of the vacant Teaching and Non-Teaching posts in the University, the Lt Governor asked the VC to expedite the recruitment process in accordance with the UGC norms and also adhere to the reservation policy of the Central Government.
