The ‘Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna’ (PMGKY) is going on at rapid pace in the district. Today with the distribution of 15 Kg of wheat per member for 3 months and 3 Kg of Dal per family as 3 months lump-sum, free of cost under the National Food Security Act, 2013, to the 7000 people, the figure of 87000 has been reached. This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan here today.Divulging more, he said that the distribution work is likely to result in 100 percent coverage of beneficiaries mark in a few days time. It is also noteworthy that the scheme has two parts namely Antyodya Anna Yojna (AAY) and the Priority Households (PHH). The beneficiaries under AAY number 2032 and those under PHH are 105564.The distribution work was today in undertaken village Bhukhri Lalru in Derabassi Block, Dashmesh Nagar Kharar, Jhungian Kharar, Goslan, Majri, Sialba, Fatehpur, Manakpur and Khera in Kharar Block and Balongi, Phase - 11, 4, 6, Village Mohali, Bhagomajra, Dhelpur and Jhanjeri in Mohali Block.
