The ‘Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna’ (PMGKY) is going on full throttle in the district and till date, a total of 72000 beneficiaries registered under the National Food Security Act, 2013, have been provided with the 5 Kg of wheat per member per month for 3 months and 1 Kg of Dal per family per month (3 months lumsum) free of cost. This was disclosed here today by the Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Girish Dayalan.Divulging more, he said that the Food and Civil Supplies Department is keeping a strict eye on the distribution process so as to ensure that only the genuine beneficiaries receive the ration. The main aim is to ensure the food security to the beneficiaries.Today, the distribution work was undertaken in the villages Dyalpura, Tarrak in Block Derabassi, Hoshiarpur, Tamipur, Parol in Block Kharar, Raipur Khurd, Manauli, Balongi, Mataur, Khaspur, Bassi Sakkhan, Gudana, Bhago Majra, Mauli Baidwan, and Chuharmajra viilages falling under the Mohali Block and 9000 smart ration card holders were provided with the ration.
