District Development Commissioner (DDC), Bandipora, Ravinder Kumar, Friday, directed district officers to ensure the hassle-free movement of specially-abled persons in Government offices including Mini Secretariat Bandipora.He said this while meeting a delegation of District Handicap Association who called on him to welcome for assuming charge as the Deputy Commissioner of the district. The association apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the problems being faced by them. DDC asked concerned officers to make the lifts of all the blocks of mini-secretariat functional besides ensuring that all ramps fixed in government buildings are technically checked and modified as per the requirement and convenience of the specially-abled persons.Interacting with the members of the association, Deputy Commissioner said that he is aware of the problems of specially-abled persons and assured them that necessary measures will be taken for social inclusion of all the disadvantaged sections of the society so that they don’t  remain dependent on others. He asked them to avail off the benefit of various state and centrally sponsored schemes launched for specially-abled persons of the district.While visiting the medical board, he ordered for immediate shifting of medical board office from 3rd floor to ground floor at Mini-Secretariat in order to ease the problems of the specially-abled persons.
