The Tribal Welfare Forum District Baramulla today welcomed the decision of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G. N Itoo for helping the nomadic Gujjar & Bakarwal Community amid COVID19 lockdown by providing free dry ration kits and other protective equipment at large in the district. District President Tribal Welfare Forum Baramulla Ch Mohammad Aslam while thanking the DC Baramulla for playing a proactive role in helping the poor tribal community in various forms said that from several days, we got many reports that DC Baramulla directed field functionaries to assist this Nomadic Community in the form of dry ration, distribution of masks and other medical assistance. We welcome this gesture of the district administration in general and DC Baramulla endeavor in particular towards making Baramulla COVID19 free, he further added.He along with district Vice-President Ch Imtiyaz Ahmad further requested Deputy Commissioner to start seasonal/mobile schools for tribal community at different Bakhs in Baramulla district so that poor children of G&B community could benefit from formal education. Further, they requested DC that amid COVID19 scare and subsequent lockdown medical assistance should be provided for health checkup through mobile doctors teams as this shall keep the district safe.They also requested the Animal and Sheep Husbandry department for proper assistance and treatment of their live stocks. The forum complemented DC Baramulla and said that we will convey this feeling of the community to the state Govt. as well as central ministry of tribal affairs.
