In wake of the prevailing Covid 19 pandemic, the Muslim brethren have decided to pay namaz from their homes to mark the holy festival of Eid on Monday. A decision to this  effect was taken in a meeting held here at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Balkar Singh during which many prominent leaders of the Muslim community were  present. During the meeting the Deputy Commissioner of Police said that owing to the global pandemic people have been forced to celebrate major festivals of India like Sri Ram  Naumi, Easter, Baisakhi and others from home. He said that as the danger of spreading of this pandemic was still hovering so utmost care needs to be taken while celebrating the  festival of Eid on Monday. Mr. Balkar Singh urged the delegation of Community to celebrate the festival with full religious fervor by offering prayers from home.Taking part in  deliberations the delegation of the Muslim Community led by the Member of Punjab Waqf Board Mr. Mohammed Kaleem Azad said that the community was fully sensitive of the  massive efforts being made by the Punjab government led by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to check the spread of Corona Virus in the state. They said that the  community would extend fulsome support and cooperation to the Chief Minister in this hour of crisis and celebrate the festival of Eid by offering their prayers from home. The  delegation said that it was the need of the hour to save the humanity from the scourge of the pandemic. They also lauded the steps taken by the Chief Minister to save the state  from the fury of this pandemic adding that the farsightedness and decisiveness of Captain Amarinder Singh has saved the state.On the occasion Mr. Naeem Khan from Waqf  Tribunal, Mr. SS Hassan from Punjab Sufi Manch, Mohammed Alauddin Chand, Mr. Abdul Sattaar, Mr. Haider Ali, Mohammed Shammi and others were also present.
