Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan today inaugurated 132/33kv power transformer of Khunmoh Grid Station here.Chief Engineer, Transmission, Hashmat Qazi was present on the occasion.The commissioning of transformer will augment capacity of the grid station from 50MVA to 100 MVA. The 132/33kv Khunmoh Grid Station was constructed under VPMRP-2005 and commissioned in 2009 with a capacity 0f 50MVA to cater to the industrial areas of Khunmoh and Khrew. Now with the induction 132/33KV Transformer the capacity of the grid has been augmented to 100MVA.The project was completed at a cost of Rs. 6.33 crore.On the occasion, the Advisor was informed that increased availability of power will give boost to industrialization, besides dependable power supply to the consumers of the area.Also, the Advisor was briefed that the augmentation of Khunmoh Grid Station shall provide a big relief to the overloaded Pampore Grid station which will also improve the availability and quality of power in large areas of Pulwama and Srinagar districts.'It will also benefit SIDCO Phase I, SIDCO Phase II, SIDCO Phase III, Khunmoh Police Colony Zewan, Cement Plants in and around Khrew,' Chief Engineer, Hashmat Qazi informed.
