Hizbul Mujahideen Divisional Commander for central Kashmir and Son of Separatist conglomerate Tehreek-e-Hurriyat’s chairman Ashraf Sehrai, was among two two militants killed in Nawakadal downtown Srinagar Gunfight at Srinagar on Tuesday, DGP police Dilbagh Singh said in a Presser at Srinagar.Two dead bodies were recovered after Operation was concluded from the Gunfight site and they have been identified as Junaid Sehrai Who is Son of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman Ashraf Sehrai and his another associate is Tariq Ahmed shiekh from South Kashmir's Pulwama district said A police official.
Reports said, After the contact was established between Militants and security forces 2G internet Services were Snapped and Mobile Telephony /voice calls of all cellular networks were barred in entire city as a precautionary measure, only state run BSNL postpaid services was working.Based on credible input received by forces about Presence of Militants in the kani mazar locality of Nawakadal Srinagar Search Operation was launched during night by Joint team of Forces including Crpf and J&K Police.After the searches were intensified Militants trapped fired upon forces and there was lull of about five hours and the fresh contact was resumed in morning.One police cop and one CRPF (central reserve police force ) personal were injured in this Operation and later Militants lobbed a grenade during operation in which two more CRPF personal were Injured and they were evacuated for treatment and are stable DGP told.It was congested area and forces evacuated locals safely in the neighbourhood before launching Operation an official said.One house suffered damage in the Operation and from the site two weapons include arms and Ammunition were recovered.
