The authorities in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district are mulling to initiate strict action against the health worker from Gonipora, Handwara area who tested positive for novel coronavirus on April 26 last month following which his family member and a barber were detected positive. The health became the super spreader and infected many people taking the number of infected people to double digit.Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that both district administration and health authorities are serious about the negligence of health worker who was posted at isolation hospital Kupwara and was allowed to go home but advised to follow necessary protocols and guidelines especially to observe home quarantine without any laxity which he didn’t. This way, he became super spreader of deadly pandemic and infected as many as people whom came to contact.Additional Deputy commissioner Handwara, Nazir Ahmad told KNO that we are looking to it there will be strict action against the health worker for not following the proper guidelines and went to a barber who is now turning to be super spreader in the entire area after which aggressive measures were taken to contain the virus.Its total negligence and a big mistake of the health worker who after returning from duty at COVID-19 Hospital Kupwara went to barber rather than following proper measures and home quarantine. “It’s due to his negligence we are witnessing huge spike in cases had he not done this big blunder this, virus may not have engulfed many people”, he said.He said that the department will initiate action against the health worker for violation of norms and deliberate negligence that lead to widespread transmission of this disease.Pertinently, 97 People have so far tested positive for coronavirus in the entire district with 48 recoveries without a single fatality and 3512 have been so far sampled besides an FIR was also lodged against a positive patient for concealing the travel history.
