The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) team of Government Polytechnic College Jammu today visited five adopted villages to raise awareness regarding Covid-19 pandemic and measures to be adopted to avoid its spread.During the visit, the team interacted with the Sarpanch, Panchs and locals and handed over sanitized homemade masks to Medical Officers.Members of UBA team of college handed over packets of masks to Medical Officers, at Government Health and Wellness Center, Basi Kalan, Government Ayurvedic Dispensary, Khandwal and Government Ayurvedic Dispensary, Mukhra in presence of Ex. Chairman Municipal Committee Bari Brahmana, Sarpanchs of Khandwal and Mandal Panchayats.Principal of the College, Er. Arun Bangotra lauded the efforts of UBA team. He informed that the masks have been prepared by the local tailors and after proper sanitization handover to the Medical Officers in adopted villages by college.Fashion Designing instructors and students of the college were also engaged in making homemade masks since lockdown and distributed among NGOs, local residents, individuals and hospitals.Coordinators of UBA team of the college, Er Ajay Thapa and Er Jasdeep Kaur informed that similar works are also in progress in all other adopted villages. The students of the institute had also played a pivotal role in dissemination of information regarding Covid -19.
