As part of the commitment of the District Administration to send the migrant workers back to their home states safely, 2 trains today left the Mohali Railway Station for Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh and Bettiah station in West Champaran in Bihar. The train for Hardoi left at 10 am carrying 1392 migrant workers from Mohali, Ropar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar.The elation was writ large on the faces of the migrant population going back to their native place and they expressed deepest gratitude to the District Administration for providing them food, water, biscuits and making elaborate preparations for their journey back home.Meanwhile, 734 migrant workers from Madhya Pradesh were sent by the District Administration to Sirhind from where they boarded the train to Katni with intermittent stoppages at Gwalior, and Bina.
