Manish Tewari, MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib has assured to raise the issue of the growing financial problems of educational and technical training institutes with the Central Government amid the lockdown due to Corona infection. MP Tewari held a meeting with different colleges, universities principals and vice-chancellors through video conferencing.Significantly, MP Tewari is constantly holding meetings with different sections, so that their problems can be resolved appropriately. All the educational institute personnel’s said that between lockdown and recession, they managed to pull out the month of March and April, but now the situation is out of control. Thousands of teaching and non-teaching staff are associated with the institutes.There is no other means of income other than charging fees to pay the salary to the staff. However this does not mean giving all the money. Even children of weaker sections are exempted from fees, but those who have the means, pay them. Similarly, they also demanded that the central government must give them an economic package like other classes. Similarly, the government has an under-taxation of Rs 5 crore for the universities, which should be allowed to be used or they are provided some kind of loan, which they will gradually withdraw later.After listening to all these demands, MP Tewari assured the representatives of educational and technical training institutes that he will try to get their problems resolved. Tewari said that most of the demands are related to the central government. He understands that you are going through difficult times, but the country is also in trouble. In the circumstances created by the corona, the treasury of the government is getting depleted day by day, so that maximum relief can be given to the people. He will raise the issue of his financial troubles with the Union Human Resource Minister and the Finance Minister, so that all of them can get any economic package.Among others Jagjit Singh Vice Chancellor, Rajinder Bawa Vice chancellor, Arvinder Singh Principal, Dr Rajat Joshi, Rajnish Talwar, JS Bedi, Ashutosh Sharma, Dr Primila Kaushal, Dr Shailesh Sharma, Dr Preet Kawal Khaira, Raja Singh, were also a part of the meeting.
