Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr Navjot Singh Mahal today reviewed law and order situation in wake of curfew at Goraya and Phillaur.The Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police said that the district civil and Police administration was on toes for ensuring that law and order was maintained on one hand and people were saved from the Covid 19 pandemic. They said that the administration has ensured foolproof arrangements for proper enforcement of the curfew in the district. Both the officers inspected the markets of Goraya and Phillaur besides having detailed deliberations with the officers.The Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police also visited the institutional quarantine centre established by the district administration at Goraya to quarantine the NRIs coming from other countries. They asked the officers to ensure proper health, boarding and lodging facilities along with the food for the NRIs coming there. Both the officers also said that they would be regularly monitoring the arrangements at the centre.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police also patted the cops and other staff deployed on duty during the curfew/ lockdown. They said that the staff deployed on frontline may be from any department were the real warriors of Corona. They said that the contribution made by these real heroes would be ever remembered by one and all.
