Moga police have arrested one person and recovered an Alto car, cash, gun, machete and 150 grams of intoxicating powder from his possession.Giving further details SSP Mr Harmanbir Singh Gill stated that on May 10 around 9 Am, while patrolling in the area of police station City Moga nearby Savera Hospital, ASI Ashok Kumar along with the police party met complainant Rakesh Kumar resident of Dashmesh Nagar, Moga. The complainant stated that while his way back from village Gagra, where he had gone for a personal work along with his family in the Alto car (RC number PB 10 CS 1116), two motorcycle borne persons approached him. While one of the youngsters had shorn hair, the other wore turban. The two told Rakesh that there was fault in one of the car's tyres. When Rakesh Kumar pulled over his car to check tyre, the person with shorn hair took out a machete and threatened Rakesh to hand over all cash in his possession.Rakesh Kumar threw the cash Rs 20,000 and cards including ATM card and driving license towards the assailants. Thereafter, the assailants forcibly took the car’s key from Rakesh Kumar, after which his wife and son alighted from the said vehicle. The attacker (with shorn hair) drove away the snatched vehicle towards village Lohara, while the turbaned attacker sped away on his motorcycle in the same direction. On the complaint of Rakesh FIR no. 94 dated 10.05.20 u/s 379-B(2) IPC was registered at PS City Moga, district Moga.

ASI Ashok Kumar reached the spot and started investigation where he was informed by an informer that the above snatched car was parked at MP Basti, Landeke under a grove of trees. ASI Ashok Kumar reached the above place and apprehended the accused who disclosed his name and address as Rajanjeet Singh alias Sonu Bhau from Shanti Nagar, Moga. The snatched vehicle and a 12 bore Gun (barrel cut), one machete and Rs 5000/- were recovered from his possession. Further, during the questioning of the accused Rajanjeet Singh said that he had an aide named Jagjit Singh from Shanti Nagar, Moga. In the presence of DSP Jangjit Singh, 150gms of intoxicating powder was recovered from accused Rajanjeet Singh. During investigation the sections 34, 411 IPC, 22 NDPS and 25 Arms Act were added to the case FIR no. 94/20, PS City Moga. The accused Rajanjeet Singh alias Sonu Bhau disclosed that he along with the other accused Jagjit Singh have committed many crimes in Moga and its nearby areas. He further disclosed that the 12 bore Gun was bought form one Gugni, which is being investigated. The accused would be presented in the court and would be questioned more after securing his police remand.ઠ
