The Second Special train in a day, today chuged off the Mohali Railway Station carrying the 1335 migrant workers back to Gorakhpur in UP. In what has become the hallmark of the District Administration, the train departed right on time at 6 pm.Given a warm see off by the District Administration, the migrants were ferried to the railway station from the 8 collection centres where they were first thoroughly screened and then boarded the buses to reach the railway station for journey back home.The District Administration provided packed food packets, water besides biscuits to the migrants who expressed deep sense of gratitude for facilitating their safe journey home to their home state by clapping and cheering loudly.It is important to note that this is the fifth special train that has carried the migrant workers of the District back to their home state. Earlier, 1288 migrants left through the first train to Hardoi, 1301 migrants left through second train again for Hardoi, The third train carried 1192 migrants to Sultanpur in UP, the fourth train left today morning for Jharkhand, carried 1216 migrants which makes it a total of 6332 migrant workers (5th train carrying 1335 migrant workers including) who have been safely sent back by the District Administration to their home states.
