Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh Thakur here today held a Cabinet sub-committee meeting. During meeting a discussion was held to provide financial assistance to various sectors like tourism, transport, industry, agriculture etc.He said that keeping in view the increasing strength of people coming back from other states the Information and Technology Department has been asked to develop an app. Under this app the skilled workers who came transport from other parts of state can register themselves. After registration they will be provided employment in various departments based on their skills and capacity as per their requirement. It was decided to provide special relief to tourism, transport sectors and the urban poors.Mahender Singh said that in view of COVID-19 pandemic there is a need to strengthen the health sector in state. He said that the number of quarantine centers would be increased and to facilitate the people who are being quarantined more facilities would be made available in these centers. Discussion was also held to strengthen health institutions in rural areas.He said that to strengthen the economy of the state, discussion was held on starting industrial units and more relaxation would be provided to small industries. He also directed to provide lodging facility to the workers working in the industrial units in the same area. He said that sufficient raw material would be made available to the industries so that there is no shortage of raw material so that production work would not suffer.
To provide remunerative prices to farmers for their produce, it was discussed to sent their produce to various markets through air transport. Directions were issued to the Animal Husbandry Department to ensure adequate availability of fodder in all the Gau Sadans in rural areas.Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh Thakur said that the government is taking every possible step to check and control the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in state. The frontline Corona warriors of the state are rendering their outstanding services. He said that the first priority should be to provide all assistance to the people working on the forefront to deal with this pandemic. He said that discussions and decisions raised on various issues in the meeting would be kept before the Cabinet.Additional Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh also gave presentation before the sub-committee during the meeting.Members of Sub-committee Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Industries Minister Bikram Singh, Forest and Transport Minister Govind Singh Thakur attended in meeting.Principal Secretary, Finance Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sanjay Kundu, Secretary Information and Public Relations Rajneesh and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
