The Minister for Health and Family Welfare Balbir Singh Sidhu today visited district Moga to take a view of preparedness in district in dealing with Covid cases. He appreciated the efforts of front line workers, district administration, police, health department and all other officers who are working round the clock serving the society. Speaking to media persons the Minsiter said that in order to increase the pace of testing a large number of samples simultaneously, the Punjab government had tied up with private labs too for diagnosis purposes. He said that all over state, the positive patients were being provided best of facilities. He also appealed people to keep social distancing, wash hands frequently and use sanitizers to keep ourselves safe from corona virus.Deputy Commissioner Mr Sandeep Hans informed that more than 1150 samples have been collected so far of which 27 are positive, 522 are negative and the results of rest is awaited. These also include 209 pilgrims that have returned from Sri Nanded Sahib and also a number of labourers that have come back from other states. Of the 27 positive patients, four have already been treated and are healthy. All the remaining 23 patients are at the isolation center at Civil Hospital Moga. Civil Surgeon Dr Andesh Kang informed that 253 samples of those people have been collected who had come in contact with the four ASHA workers, which have tested positive. She added that all the positive patients admitted at Civil Hospital Moga are being given good diet to help them build their immunity.MLA Baghapurana Mr Darshan Singh Brar, MLA Mr Dharamkot Sukhjit Singh Lohgarh, MLA Moga Dr Harjot Kamal, SSP Moga Mr Harmanbir Singh Gill, ADC (G) Mrs Anita Darshi and other officers of health department were also present.
