The District today saw a positive case emerging. A 25 year old female from Desumajra in Kharar was found positive for corona virus. This was disclosed here today by the Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan. He also clarified that earlier there were reports about two positive cases in the district.But on probing the matter further, it became known that the 67 year old man belongs to Gurdaspur district. He came to PGIMER on April 24,2020 directly from Gurdaspur. However, the Mohali health department has done contact tracing, sampling and the police have cordoned off the area. Now the patient is admitted in Ivy Hospital, Mohali.The patient's son who is taking care of him in hospital is living in SBI Officers Colony phase 10 Mohali.The Civil Surgeon Gurdaspur has been informed in this regard.The DC also divulged that the District also had today 3 patients being discharged from the Gian Sagar Hospital. All of these belonged to village Jawaharpur. Regarding the status of quarantined people, he said that a total of 766 people are currently undergoing quarantine period while 2488 people have successfully undergone quarantine period. As of now, the total number of positive cases in the district is 93.
