Two new cases have emerged from Jawaharpur while three patients from the district have successfully defeated corona virus, informed Girish Dayalan, Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar.Giving details, he informed that positive cases that surfaced include a 47 year old and a 60 year old male who are close contacts of an already COVID positive patient. 

In the meanwhile, the district saw 3 more corona virus patients who combated the virus successfully and were discharged after recovery.These corona fighters include two males and a female. One of the males discharged was the first case of village Jawaharpur and the other male is a resident of Sector -68 in Mohali while third one is a woman from village Jawaharpur. By April 28, District SAS Nagar has seen 65 COVID positive cases with the number of recovered cases being 30. A total of 1292 samples have been taken and out of these, 1220 have been found negative while the results of 8 samples are awaited. Extensive sampling is being conducted in the containment zone which comprises not of screening or rapid tests but PCR testing,.
