The government ITI students have brought pride to the state by topping in producing masks during the lockdown when the country is passing through very tough times due to Corona Virus pandemic. The Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi congratulated the officials, principals and the students for this achievement. The Minister said that the Punabis have once again proved that they are always ahead while performing any duty or task in the crises situation when the country needs.The Technical Education Minister said that our ITIs have made more than 2.5 lac masks till date. He also appealed to the officials, principals and the students to continue the good work with more high spirit. He also advised them to take all necessary precautions during making masks to be safe from Corona Virus.Mr. Anurag Verma, Principal Secretary Technical Education and Industrial Training Punjab said that the Union Minister for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Mr. Mahindra Nath Pandey today held a video conference with the Principals and Students of 28 ITIs from all across the country for Covid related good work and out of these 6 ITIs were from Punjab. The Union Minister highly appreciated the good work of ITIs of Punjab for making masks. He told that from Punjab Daljit Kaur Sidhu, Additional Director Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Principals and students of ITI Rajpura, Patiala, Moga, Rayia, SAS Nagar and Government Institute of Garment Technology Amritsar participated in the video with the Union Minister.Mr. Verms said that he has already written to all the Deputy Commissioners in the State that they can get masks stitched from the students of ITIs free of cost. “The best part is that the raw material for making masks is being collected through donations and stitching has been carried out as Sewa and Masks are being distributed free of cost”, added Verma.
