Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today reviewed functioning of various departments and took a detailed review of stock, supply position and distribution process in the district.During the review it was given out by CMO that 433 Cases were sampled in the district, out of which 06 Cases have been found positive, 301 results negative while result of 126 cases is awaited.He further said that 309 persons are under home quarantine while 17 are in hospital quarantine and 79 persons are under administrative quarantine.The Deputy Commissioner directed CMO to intensify the process of tracing of all contacts of the positive cases to break the chain of Corona virus infection.While taking review of availability and status of distribution of essentials in the district, the DC was informed that under NFSA, 41347 quintals of ration and under JKFES 8 thousand quintals of rationhas already been distributed for the Month of April & May.Distribution of free ration under Pradhan Mantari Gareeb Kalyan Yojna (PMGKY) has also been initiated in the district and under the scheme 57347 AAY & PHH families comprising of, 2, 56,566 souls will be provided 12828 quintals.With regard to distribution of ration under, Pradhan Mantari Gareeb Kalyan Yojna (PMGKY) Deputy commissioner impressed upon the officers to ensure cent percent distribution within 2 days following the SOP ‘s and by maintaining proper social distancing at all places.
The concerned also apprised that during the month of April out of received stock of 29400 LPG cylinders 24875 cylinders have been distributed and presently 48000 liters of Kerosene, 1,02000 lts Petrol and 1,32000 liter’s of diesel are available in the district.Under various scholarships programs the district has received 36848 fresh applications for pre-Matric scholarship and 10614 renewal applications for the year 2019-20 and for post- Matric 10671 applications have been received, sofar.Moreover Labour department has disbursed an amount of Rs 84,70000 among active workers @ 1000 per worker through DBT mode.Besides, 43 ATM’s are functional in the district and have witnessed 94985 transactions since the imposition of restrictions and more than Rs.54 Crore were disbursed trough these ATMs.Under PMJDY, 43661 female account holders were benefited and Rs 2.05 Crore credited to their accounts.It was also given out that all red zones of district stands cent percent mask covered and whole district will achieve the target 100% coverage soon.The Deputy Commissioner directed all the officers to disallow the employees without mask in all the offices to prevent the spread COVID-19 infection.He also urged people to stay home which is instrumental to stop the spread of Corona virus infection.Notably, the DC (DM) has already extended the restrictions, lockdown in the district till 3rd May and the step have been taken to contain the spread of virus.
