To take a comprehensive review regarding the containment and management of COVID19 and to make a stringent strategy to combat the further spread of Corona Virus infection in the district, especially after a new positive case came to fore yesterday, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today convened a meeting of the nominated administrators, nodal officers and incharge District Control Room for COVID19.The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandan Kohli, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sher Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, Liaqat Choudhary, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote, Krishan Lal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Sambayal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Ashraf,Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sanjeev Puri, Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria, Nodal Officer District Control Room for COVID19, Tahir Malik, Deputy District Election Officer, Rizwan Asgar, District Panchayat Officer, Dr. Abdul Khabir, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Sarfraz Naseem Chowdhury ,Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Sales and Taxation Officer, Ashiq Rafiq, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Aness Altaf Nabi, Assistant Director FCS&CA, Mukhtar Ahmed Lone and Block Medical Officers.Detailed discussion was held with regards to the activation of Village Surveillance teams, implementation of instructions and advisory in the district, tracking of persons, augmentation of quarantine facilities, sampling at the site and identification of traditional migration routes and strengthening thereof.
The DC said that with reporting of one new positive case in the district there is a dire need to follow all the preventive measures to ensure that no more cases of the infection occur in the district and the common masses are saved from deadly virus.He further said that activation of the village Surveillance teams is the need of the hour to contain the spread of the COVID-19 in the district.The DC informed that Village Surveillance teams can play a vital role in the tracing of the persons coming from the other district and help in tracing of the contacts. The Tehsildars were given directions to seek information from the teams on daily basis.Further he said “as we are aware that persons stuck in other districts have embarked a by foot journey and are following the alternate traditional migration routes and entering in the district”.He directed the Tehsildars and police officers to identify the traditional routes so that entry points can be strengthened and no persons and vehicles are allowed to enter in the district without valid passes.It was also decided in the meeting that vehicles carrying essential commodities will be allowed to enter in the district.It was also decided in the meeting that vehicle sensitization points be established at Deragali and Bimbergali.The DC also directed the Chief Medical officer Rajouri to provide PPEs to all the health workers as sufficient funds had been released.While taking stock of the facilities being provided at the quarantine centres, the DC impressed the concerned officers to provide proper hygienic refreshment to the boarders besides ensuring proper sanitation and round the clock electricity at the quarantine centres.
The DC said that the district administration has also launched E-pass service to facilitate and mitigate the sufferings of the patients. He also said that to ensure the universal coverage of masks, the district administration has roped in scores of local entrepreneurs and SHGs for mass production of around 06 lakh reusable masks to contain the spread of COVID19 in the district and to ensure that no shortage of face masks occurs in the district.He also urged cooperation among all the constituted teams to avert any eventuality due to COVID-19 in the district. He also stressed for sharing real time information with the District Control Room so that necessary action for the welfare of the general public can be taken within the shortest possible time.He directed the concerned officers to remain available at their headquarters and ensure that best possible assistance is provided to the general public in this period of lockdown. He also asked them to be extra cautious of their responsibilities and make concerted efforts to mitigate the sufferings of the general public in these tough circumstances.The SSP informed that special flying squads have been constituted to check the migration of labourers from red zones of other district. He also advised the officers for judicious use of movement passes.He also requested the Deputy Commissioner to issues separate passes for employees of Thanamandi Sub Division, so that the movement to and from Thanamandi could be mitigated.All the officers in the meeting were provided with hand gloves, sanitizers and masks by the district administration.
