In a major initiative aimed at ensuring the well being of the cops on duty during the current Corona Virus pandemic, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) would provide washable cotton masks for the cops of Jalandhar district in the coming days.A decision to this effect was taken in a high level meeting held at CRPF campus Sarai Khaas in which Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Deputy Inspector General of CRPF Mr. Harjinder Singh.During the meeting Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police apprised the Deputy Inspector General of Police that 1600 cops have been deployed 24X7 on curfew duty to enforce law and order in the city amidst Covid-19 crisis. They said that masks, sanitizers, soaps and other things necessary for performing the duty diligently were being supplied to Police personnel for performing their duty well. Both the officers said that keeping in view the hardships being faced by the cops due to advent of summer season the supply of these items has been enhanced by the administration to the cops.Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General of Police CRPF Mr. Harjinder Singh, while lauding the efforts being made civil and Police administration to prevent Corona Virus in the district, said that the para military force was solidly with the administration in this war to prevent humanity from this pandemic. He said that the CRPF would be soon providing washable cotton masks to the force to make them convenient in performing their duty. Mr. Harjnder Singh said that these masks would be very effective in safeguarding the cops from Covid 19 on one hand and ensuring their personal hygiene on the other.
On the occasion Commandant CRPF Mr. VS Joon and Assistant Commandant Mr. Kulwant Singh were also present.
