Director, Women and Child Development Kritika Kulaihari called on Governor Bandaru Dattatraya at Raj Bhavan, today and apprised him about various steps taken by the department during the lockdown.The Governor said that Anganwadi workers are playing an important role in the situation of COVID-19 threat. He advised the department to give instruction to Anganwadi Workers to sensitize the people in rural areas for the preparation of homemade masks. These workers should also work in coordination with the health department and provide information in detail about the movement of people. He said that self-help groups should also be motivated in this direction by the department. He asked to provide ration to migrant labourers in coordination with police, food supply and health departments. The Director apprised the Governor that during the Active Case Finding Campaign duty, 3696 Anganwadi workers were deputed for house to house survey to trace the active or suspected case of COVID-19. She added that an amount of Rs. 1000 per Anganwadi Center has been provided by the department to all Anganwadi workers for procurement of masks, sanitizer, handwash, soap and gloves etc as protection kit.Secretary to the Governor Rakesh Kanwar was also present on the occasion.
