In an important initiative, the district civil and Police administration has decided to issue commendation certificate to 1300 cops who were rendering marvelous services by ensuring 24X7 vigil in the city.Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that these certificates were being issued to the cops were acting as frontline soldiers in war against Corona Virus. They said that the cops were really doing a fantastic job due to which they were being bestowed this honor. Both the officers said that besides ensuring strict compliance of curfew, these cops were also lending a helping hand to the people, which was really laudable.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police further said that with the active support and cooperation of the general public the fight against Covid 19 would be won. They said that curfew has been imposed in the district with the motive to ensure people stay inside their homes as it was the only way to prevent Corona Virus. 

The officers also asked the people to support the district administration in this war against Covid 19 by remaining ‘self home quarantined’ and following the norm of social distance, while moving out in case of any emergency. The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that these twin principles were the golden rules which would act as the most effective and lethal weapons for combating the Corona Virus. They called upon the people to follow these golden rules and ensure that Punjab in general and Jalandhar in particular was victorious in this battle.Meanwhile, the officers conducted flag march from Pathankot Chowk, Doaba Chowk, Sri Devi Talaab Mandir, Kishanpura Chowk, Damoria Pull, Old Railway Road, City Railway Station, Madan Floor Mill Chowk, Nehru Garden Road, Shastri Chowk, Press Club Chowk, Namdev Chowk, Skylark Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, BMC Chowk and others.On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vishesh Sarangal, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. AS Powar and others were also present.
