Department of Labour, under the supervision of Assistant Labour Commissioner, Pradyot Gupta, today distributed face masks among 350 stranded migrant labourers at Baradari.The team educated the labourers about COVID-19 pandemic and also about the safety measures and precautions to be observed in tackling the deadly infection.ALC asked all the contractors and employers to follow the instructions strictly issued by the government for wages of employees/workers during the period of lockdown.ALC further said that if any employer forces labourers to leave the premises and not provide shelter to them, he will be liable for action under various acts.He also informed that the department is working to ensure welfare of workers and migrants stuck due to COVID-19 lockdown. Several initiatives are being taken by district administration to ensure good health and provision of ration to migrant labourers, he said.
