Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Anshul Garg, the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Karnah, Dr. Bilal Mohiddin, established innovative phone booth type sample collection centre KIOSK at Government Degree College (GDC) Tangdar, today.On the occasion SDM said that the innovative sample collection Centre, first of its kind in the border area, has been established to facilitate Nasal sample collection of COVID-19 suspects. He said 21 samples of primary suspects were collected today and dispatched to SKIMS, Soura for testing.SDM informed that Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, has already sent a team of experts including microbiologist for collection of Nasal samples, adding that this method of sample collection is less manpower intensive and reduces the risk of Covid-19 transmission.SDM appealed the locals to strictly adhere to the preventive measures during ongoing lockdown in view of COVID-19. He said no movement of people is being allowed to and from the Bagbella village which has been recently declared as Red zone by the Deputy Commissioner after the 01 positive case of COVID19 was reported in the area. Moreover, movement of people has also been restricted in Gomal, Shamspora, Nachiyan, Hajinard villages which have been declared buffer zones.
