Continuing its preventive efforts to contain the corona virus outbreak in the district and particularly among the most vulnerable sections of society, District Magistrate Rajinder Singh Tara today distributed the masks among 120 migrant labourers and interstate migrants who are presently stranded at the Helipad Kishtwar during this nationwide lockdown.
He was accompanied with Additional Deputy Commissioner Pawan Parihar, Assistant Labour Commissioner Anoop Kumar, Tehsildar Kishtwar Parmod Kumar and various other district officers.Labour Department has provided these masks for distribution among the inter-state migrants and labourers and shall be distributed among all such workers in the Kishtwar, informed ALC Kishtwar Anoop Kumar.The migrants were also asked to use these masks properly as a protective device to safeguard themselves as well as others against possible transmission of COVID-19 infection.While interacting with these migrants workers, DM said that one can also use clean handkerchief or homemade mask to prevent from corona virus infection in case these readymade masks are not available besides he also stressed upon the recipients to follow the social distancing and other SOPs and guidelines issued by government from time to time like frequent hand washing, using elbow, handkerchief or tissue papers during sneezing and coughing, avoid frequent touching of face and nose with hands, using masks etc.
