Governor Bandaru Dattatraya honoured the doctors, nurses and safai karamchari at Raj Bhavan on World Health Day today while following social distance.On this occasion, the Governor said that ‘World Health Day’ was celebrated every year on 7th of April to spread the awareness for maintaining good health and a balanced lifestyle. He said that the day was dedicated to honour the indefatigable work of nurses and midwives across the globe. He added that the whole world was fighting with coronavirus pandemic, which increases the importance of this Day. In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, millions of doctors, nurses, medical staff and healthcare workers were leaving behind their comfort and safety to fight COVID-19 crisis and help those infected or suspected of coronavirus.“We should salute their spirit and give them full respect”, said the Governor.Dr. Ajay Kumar Gupta, Director Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Janak Raj, MS, IGMC, Dr Vimal Bharti, Associate Professor, IGMC, Manju, Meena Thakur and Kavita, Staff Nurses, Naseema, Ward girl, Naresh Kumar and Ramesh Kumar Security personnel and Suresh, Safai karamchari were honoured by the Governor on the occasion.R. D. Dhiman, ACS Health, Rakesh Kanwar, secretary to Governor and other officials of Raj Bhavan were also present on the occasion.
