The Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today led the flag march in the city for taking the stock of ground level situation in the city during the ongoing curfew.Starting from BMC Chowk, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police along with other officers of the civil and Police administration led the flag march in sensitive and vulnerable areas of the city. The flag march passed from Namdev Chowk, Press Club Chowk, Sri Ram (Nehru Garden) Chowk, Bhagwan Valmiki (Jyoti) Chowk, Basti Adda Chowk, Jail Chowk, Patel Chowk, Workshop Chowk, Kapurthala Chowk, Football Chowk, Dr BR Ambedkar (Nakodar) Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Guru Amardass Chowk, Model Town market, Chun Mun Chowk, New Jawahar Nagar and others. During the flag march the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police gave necessary directions to the officers for ensuring the proper implementation of curfew. They said that curfew has been imposed for ensuring safety and security of the people. To ensure proper implementation of the curfew they said that people should remain in homes adding that strict action would be taken against anyone who was found violating the curfew norms. The officers said that no stone was being left unturned for effective enforcement of the curfew in the larger public interest. Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Jasbir Singh, Deputy Commissioners of Police Mr Gurmeet Singh, Mr Naresh Dogra and Mr Arun Saini, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mr Rahul Sindhu and Dr Jai Inder Singh besides others.
