Providing succour to the needy and underprivileged sections of the society, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today distributed 4500 packets of dry ration in the district.Divulging the details, the Additional Chief Administrator Jalandhar Development Authority Ms. Navneet Kaur Bal, who was overseeing the central warehouse constituted by the administration to ensure the distribution, said that these packets were sent to various areas of the district. She said that the packets contain 22500 kilograms of wheat, 22500 kilograms, 4500 kilograms of sugar, 4500 kilograms of pulses, 4500 bottles of oil and 4500 packets of tea. Ms. Bal said that no stone was being left unturned for giving relief to the people in this hour of crisis adding that till now 9900 packets of dry ration containing 49,500 kilograms of wheat flour, 49,500 kilograms of rice, 9900 kilograms of pulses, 9900 packets of tea and 9900 bottles of oil have been distributed to people.
The Additional Chief Administrator also said that dedicated officers of various departments have been stationed round the clock for ensuring distribution of the dry ration amongst the needy and underprivileged sections of society. She said that Punjab government was committed to bail out people in this hour of crisis and no stone would be left unturned for this noble cause. Ms. Bal also said that trucks have been deployed by the district administration to ensure that the dry ration packets reach at the remotest areas of district to the needy and underprivileged people.The Additional Chief Administrator said that food material would be ensured to all the needy people especially the migrants in the city and no stone would be left unturned for ensuring these people do not face any kind of the problem.On the occasion District Education Officer Mr. Harinder Pal Singh, District Manager PUNSUP Mr. Janak Raj, Mr. Surjit Lal, Mr. Jagdish Kumar and others were also present.
