As Government declared 5 more positive cases of Covid-19 in Kashmir Valley on Monday, medics at JLNM Hospital Rainawari said that the tests of these cases are still awaited. Government spokesman Rohit Kansal tweeted that 2 persons from Srinagar and two from Shopian have been declared Covid-19 positive. One more positive case surfaced from SK Bala Hajin in Bandipora.With this the total number of cases in Kashmir has jumped to 35.  A doctor at JLNM told Kashmir News Trust that two strong cases of Covid-19 are here but their test reports are still awaited. As per Government data out of 35 positive cases from Kashmir, 15 are from Srinagar.Another medico at CD Hospital said the tweets from Government Officials are confusing in nature.  South Kashmir's Shopian district witnessed first two positive cases on Monday. An official said the patients hail from Ramnagri and Sedow villages who had travelled from Jammu to Srinagar in a Sumo with a Coronavirus infected victim.District Development Commissioner, Shopian, Yaseen Chowdary appealed people of Shopian not to panic. He said both the patients have been isolated and out of district. " We have already declared two villages of district as red zones. The access to these village have been cutoff while the family members and contacts of the two infected persons have been quarantined," DDC Shopian said adding people shall together overcome this adversity.

 Meanwhile, the tests of around 48 persons hailing from Hajin were found negative at SKIMS Soura. Block Medical Officer, Hajin Dr Nisar Ahmed told KNT that these people will now be home quarantined and they are all stable. These people are the immediate and secondary family members of those, who have already been tested positive for Coronavirus infections in Hajin. Alone in Hajin Belt, four persons affiliated with Tableegi Jamat have been tested positive.Chief Medical Officer Bandipora Dr Tajamul told KNT a positive case surfaced from SK Bala Hajin. He said the patient was admitted at CD hospital Srinagar on March 29 and today his report was found positive. " We have quarantined 2 families that have come into contact with him," he said.An official said that over 7,500 persons have been kept under home quarantine including facilities operated by Government while as 473 are in hospital quarantine.Persons who are under home surveillance stand at 2223 while as 698 persons have completed their 28-day surveillance period.The official added that 580 smples have been sent for testing of which 567 tested as negative while report for rest is awaited.

Meanwhile, in case of any emergency people can avail free ambulance services 24x7 at their door steps by calling on toll free No. 108. Pregnant women and sick infants can avail free ambulance services by dialing toll free No. 102.Furthermore a 24x7 toll free national helpline number 1075 has been activated for support, guidance, and response to health related queries on novel coronavirus disease.The government has advised the General public that in case anyone develops fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, seek medical advice promptly. “People should call on Covid-19 helpline No.s and inform about their health condition along with any recent travel or contact history so that they can be provided correct medical advice and directed to the right health facility, if needed. This will also help to prevent possible spread of COVID-19,” the advisory reads.The government has also urged public to implement Social Distancing measures as it is the key to stop and prevent the spread of Covid-19 from those who are infected to those who are not infected. The intervention includes remaining out of crowded settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others.Further, the Government has appealed people to not panic and take protective measures to protect yourself and your loved ones.
