To contain the spread of COVID-19, an extensive fumigation drive was today carried at various public places in the district by Municipal Committee Shopian in collaboration with district administration.The teams deputed for the purpose, disinfected various public places including District Hospital.During the drive, the awareness regarding preventive measures to be taken to tackle spread of COVID-19 was also generated among the people. The people were urged to contribute by way of cooperation and adhering to the advisories issued by Department of Health and Medical Education.The people were informed that by enhancing hygiene, keeping surrounding disinfected, sanitized and maintaining social distancing, one can minimize the transmission of coronavirus infection.Later, the checking squad headed by Tehsildar Shopian along with Drugs Control Officer Shopian and Food Safety Officer Shopian inspected various medical shops in the district and sealed a chemist shop for selling sub-standard sanitizers.
