Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today constituted high powered groups to keep a strict vigil for checking the spread of Corona Virus in the district. The Deputy Commissioner has constituted two separate groups headed by both the Additional Deputy Commissioners to effectively combat the Corona Virus flu. The Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr. Vishesh Sarangal would oversee the group for strategical planning whereas Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mr. Jasbir Singh would be the heading the group to arrange logistics and other material. Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr. Rahul Sindhu and Dr. Jai Inder Singh, Assistant Commissioner Mr. Varjeet Walia, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinder Chawla, District Revenue Officer Mr. Jashanjeet Singh and District Food and Civil Supplies Controller Mr. Narinder Singh have been appointed the members of these groups.Meanwhile briefing their roles to the officers, the Deputy Commissioner said that the committees would be instrumental in ensuring effective monitoring of the Corona Virus. He said that the committees would be also instrumental in overseeing all the arrangements related to planning and execution of the plan of the district administration to combat this disease efficaciously. Mr. Sharma also asked both the Additional Deputy Commissioner to do meticulous planning for ensuring that people were kept at a bay from the disease besides ensuring that a viable mechanism for dealing with any unforeseen danger was put in place.The Deputy Commissioner also asked the Committees to cross verify the containment and contingent plan of all the departments to ensure that fool proof arrangements were made to tackle with any untoward situation. Mr. Sharma also said that no stone would be left unturned to ensure that spread of this flu was checked with a heavy hand.
