Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin today convened a meeting with Ulmas (Islamic Scholars) and officers of the district to reviews the preventive measures put in place to avert any kind of eventuality in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.On the occasion, the DC appealed the Ulmas to avoid large gatherings in view of COVID-19 outbreak. He asked the Ulmas to make announcement in masjids with regard to the preventive measures that need to be taken to contain the infection.The DC said that there will be restrictions on public transport, assembly of people and some other precautionary measures in district from Friday.He appealed the people to adhere to the advisories issued by the health department and take all the precautionary measures to tackle spread of infection. He asked people not to pay heed to the rumors.
