Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today asked the Education Department to take severest of severe action against the Educational institutions who were not complying with directions of the state government to close their premises in wake of Corona Virus threat.Chairing a meeting of District Covid-19 Management group here at his residence, the Deputy Commissioner said that administration could not sit idle and see the institutes flouting the norms. He said that all the educational institutions, except those where exams were going on, have to be closed for ensuring the start of students. Mr Sharma said that exemplary action has to be taken against the erring institutes.The Deputy Commissioner further said that it was matter of satisfaction that so far no case of Corona Virus has been detected in the district. He said that all the 14 samples of suspected persons taken in Jalandhar have been found negative after following the due procedures. Mr. Sharma said that screening of people with travel history of Corona Virus inflicted countries was also being done vigorously.Taking stock of the activities being done by all the departments to check the Corona Virus, the Deputy Commissioner said that the work being done by every department was satisfactory. He asked all the departments to further carry on their work with missionary zeal and contribute in this great service towards humanity. Mr. Sharma said that precaution was the only way to check the spread of the Corona Virus in the district and all of us were duty-bound for this noble cause. On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Arun Saini, Superintendent of Police Mr RPS Sandhu, Secretary RTA Dr Nayan Jassal, Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Chawla, District Education Officer Mr Harinder Pal Singh, Dr Shobna and others were also present.
