District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Monday inspected main market in Rajouri town and took stock of the sanitation and other measures being taken to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus infection.The DDC was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandan Kohli; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sher Singh; Executive Engineer PWD, Mohammad Zubair; Executive Engineer PHE, Mushtaq Ahmed; Assistant Director FCS&CA, Mukhtar Ahmed Lone; Tehsildar, Sheraz Chowhan and other concerned officers.Meanwhile, in an order issued under CrPC 144, the DM ordered closure of all Dhabas, Restaurants, Food Courts, Spa Centers, Saloons in the district, and ban on protests, rally, bhandara and religious congregations till further orders.During his visit, the DDC interacted with the general public in the market and urged upon them to spread awareness regarding the precautions against Corona Virus infection.He asked them to stay alert and take precautionary measures like avoiding crowded places, avoiding close contact with the persons who are sick, washing hands with soap and water for at least after 20 minutes, cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces like tables, doorknobs, light-switches, countertops, handles, desks, mobile phones etc.The DDC asked the Senior Superintendent of Police to identify the locations in the market where there are chances of huge gathering.He directed the Municipality to maintain proper cleanliness in the town, while the Tehsildar was asked to ensure proper display of rates of sanitizers and face masks in medical shops.
