The Punjab unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday got a shot in the arm when prominent leaders of various political parties joined the party. They were accorded a warm welcome by Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema in the presence of several leaders of the party.Others who were present on the occasion included legislators Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Kulwant Singh Pandauri, core committee member and in charge (Organization), Garry Birring, co-in charge (Organization), state media head, Manjit Singh Sidhu, Gagandeep Singh Chadha, Varinder Singh, joint secrtary (Organisation), Nachhatar Singh, party spokesman Govinder Mittal, Manjit Singh Bitti, Gurbinder Bath and other leaders of the party.Formally inducting the new members into the party on Friday, Harpal Singh Cheema said that due respect would be accorded to the new members and their experience would be utilized in strengthening the party base in the state.Prominent among those who joined the party included Jatinder Singh Bhalla, Principal (Retd), district President and core committee member, Lok Insaf Party (LIP), from Bathinda assembly constituency and prominent social activist.Captain Ram Pal Singh, Olympian and Maharaja Ranjit Singh awardee and gold medalist in national games from Payal (Ludhiana) joined the party along with dozens of his supporters.Varun Kumar, a prominent face in the Rajasansi (Amritsar) area and senior vice- president, Akali Dal (Amritsar, Rural) also joined the party along with his supporters.
